More Questions and Answers

Q:  Are lien waivers provided?

A:  Yes, we provide lien waivers upon completion of the job and final payment.

Q:  How messy will the job be? What about clean-up?

A:  The homeowner should expect a minimal amount of general clean-up once the job is complete. We suggest the homeowner cover all personal belongings and turn off the blower to the HVAC unit during the initial phase of project.

Q:  Can outside drainage be improved to avoid installation of a drain system or installing other basement leak repairs or waterproofing remedies?

A:  Sometimes grading and/or downspout extensions can solve a leaking basement. Checking to see if your gutters are working properly to keep water away from your foundation is very important.

Depending upon the situation, correcting the problem yourself is very much a possibility. If your trained representative feels that the problem is minimal, he will give you tips and ideas as to how you can take care of it yourself.

However, if the water is coming from the cove area (where the basement floor and the foundation wall meet) this simply put is a natural seam in which the water can most easily penetrate your foundation. Contact Perma Jack of St. Louis for a free, no obligation inspection to know for sure what the water problem is and what can be done to correct the it.

Q:  What keeps your system from getting clogged?

A:  We encapsulate the entire system with a geotextile filtration fabric designed to filter dirt and sediment from the system.

Q:  What happens if my electric goes out?

A:  If the solution to your water problem required the use of a sump pump, the electricity is an integral part of the system. In the event the electricity goes out, a battery back-up system may be necessary in addition to the primary sump pump.

Q:  I just purchased a home and discovered a problem. Do I have any recourse against the previous owners?

Q:  Will my homeowner's insurance cover the cost of any basement repair work?
